End of a Great Season

This season 1 has been rather hectic especially when there were days with hundreds of emails to be answered from parents and swimmers - on top of my regular teaching schedule and the preparation of Experience Week. There were moments when I really questioned myself why am I creating this mess for myself when I could easily dug under the radar and just enjoy the 6:45am to 3:15pm schedule everyday.

But then, I do not want to walk away from these dedicated swimmers and despite how much complain I may have on a given day, just getting out from my room and trying to connect with these swimmers outside the classroom is something that I value a lot. Perhaps, that is why after my grumpiness when confronted with loads and loads of work, I still walk back to the pool and train with them twice a week.

Today was the last training session for the season and for the first time in several years, the swimmers had a chance to throw the coaches into the pool - and I was obviously one of the targets. I suppose at least that means I am not just a math teacher who talks with numbers and symbols to them.

It's going to be a quiet season 2 before training starts again after Chinese New Year for SEASAC.
