Fiji, Here I Come Again...

After almost a year of planning and preparation and despite some MAJOR hurdles to jump through for this year's experience week programme to Fiji, the day has finally come. I am getting rather excited, perhaps even more than the students.

Ever since my first visit to Fiji last Easter, I always looked back at the photos and wanted to relive those few days on nice sandy beaches under the sun and just inches away from the clear and refreshing ocean.

With more than 47 students on this programme, it will definitely be a new experience for me. One thing that I wish I could have done better in the last few weeks is to know each of these 47 students more - especially those I have never taught before. Although I know all of them by their names and even some of their information on paper, because I have been going through stacks and stacks of paper work, I really only know some of them by their passports and their forms.

Sun and beach, building and service, kava and meke....I am ready for these. It's time to get out of the classroom and have a great and crazy time with the students. (Let's hope I will not get thrown into the ocean by the students or maybe it's not a bad idea afterall.)
